Hi everybody

I would like to use the pc to control an external micrprocessor or the micro controllers ( pic ) that is controling an equipment ( machine, engine,....).

Is the only way to do that is to use the serial or parellel port only? or there are another way for that.

and

what is the prefered programming language to do this ?

I am confused shall I start with c or c++ or c# or to use another programming language .Is there are any sites or books that can help?

Thanks
